  One cannot overestimate the effect that recent technologies such as the internet and smartphones have had on society. In the span of just over a decade, internet usage has exploded from millions or users to billions. Over that period the number of web sites online has grown exponentially. Just in the last few years, social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter have added a combined one billion users. In short, society has become more connected than ever. Information has become much easier to find but more difficult to filter.

  Society has traditionally used the mainstream news organizations to filter information for us. World events aren’t anything new to the internet-era. Throughout history we still fought in wars, suffered through recessions and depressions, elected presidents and representatives, married loved-ones, attended graduations and rallies. Events have always occurred over the course of time. In the 1900s the media reported these events in the form of print, radio, and television. Real-world events were described in printed words and vocalized over the airwaves by the mainstream news outlets. The ability for one to describe world events was financially constrained. Not everyone could afford to own a newspaper, radio station, or television network. The limited number of media outlets meant less information available and less information to digest.

  The internet, however, has fundamentally changed the landscape. News organizations continue to maintain some power under this new medium. For the first time ever, however, the billions of connected people can also produce and consume news. This has led to an explosion in the amount of information available. The internet makes publishing news cheap and easy and it has also made consuming news cheap and easy. These two lead to an inordinate amount of information available to us, more than any society has seen in the history of the world.

  The emergence of the internet over the last two decades has led to a proliferation of technologies to facilitate the publishing and consumption of information for the average person. In the next 10 years, however, expect the opposite to happen. The powerful technologies will be the ones that adequately confine and intelligently funnel only relevant news to people. Nobody can effectively cover all sources including web sites, blogs, and social networking sites. We don’t have the time and we don’t have the energy. We need technology to help us.   4 Keys to Delivering Bad News to Your B2B Customers 

  Being prepared to deliver the news in a professional manner is the mark of a good salesperson. In a business-to-business selling environment, delivering bad news should be done with an eye on protecting the relationship you have carefully built with the customer. The two key elements in building trust with a buyer are to be adaptive and responsive and this is truly put to the test in handling problems.

  Business decision-makers are most concerned with a salesperson’s post-sales behavior, and problem responsiveness is the most important behavior they look for in awarding trust.

  1. Expeditious information
  
  If you really want to infuriate your buyer, let them find out the bad news from someone besides you (especially if they find out from someone in their own organization). When you contact the buyer to share the news, demonstrate your courage and integrity by cutting straight to the chase. Make sure to have a prepared list of information in front of you detailing the problem, because your buyer will have lots of questions…and expects answers quickly.

  If there was ever “one truth” about buyers, it is that they love options; give them as many options as possible.   Show the buyer that your company has taken steps to ensure the mistake won’t be repeated in the future. Also, make it clear that you’ve thought through the situation. Explain your solution. Show that your firm is doing its best to minimize the impact to the buyer. Waive or delay buyer costs when possible; obtain cost breaks, if applicable. Provide suggestions about how to “position” this news to others in the organization.

  4. Sincere apology and a request for clemency
  
  Say you’re sorry, and then hush. Don’t elaborate further; give the buyer time to absorb the sincerity of your statement. Lastly, close the conversation by asking the buyer for his ongoing support.

  Then, zip your lip. As difficult as it is, do not speak until the buyer digests what you’ve said and voices a response.

  Just to show you that I know what I am talking about: I used to smoke 60 a day and stopped just like that. I did it…you can do it. I am not saying that it is easy, but it can be done and you will feel much better for it.
  
  Make a list of reasons why you want to stop smoking. This will mean very different things to different people, but if you know what you want from stopping, it could help you through the most difficult moments.

  Your mind is made up of two parts

  Just imagine saying to a three year old child the way to boil an egg – “Stand in boiling water for three minutes”. The unfortunate child would try to get his feet in the pan.

  You have to be very precise with such directions because a three year old doesn’t think – he/she accepts.

  In exactly the same way your subconscious mind doesn’t think. It’s thinking is the job of the conscious mind. Thinking is a conscious activity. The subconscious mind just accepts and does. So it needs clear and explicit instructions. No maybes, its, or buts.

  So what does it do this subconscious mind? Just what it is told to do and you do that in as clear a manner as possible.

  There are rules to this ” telling your subconscious ” what to do. I will keep this very simple for the sake of this article ( in this field there is a whole book ) after all , what you want to do is Stop Smoking.

  · Must be positive. Through study it is know that the subconscious mind only accepts positive commands, not negative equivalents. If there is something you want to be rid of, phase it positively. You must leave out words like “give up” “not” “never”

  · Write down exactly what you want. Part of the reason why we write down our commands is to create a set of instructions for our subconscious mind to carry out.

  · Must be written in the first person “I”…I have…I am

  · The command must be read at least twice a day. Preferably rewritten

  · After each reading visualize you life with the command achieved.

  · Do not tell anyone about what you are doing. They will ridicule you and give your reasons why it will not work. This will pull you down.

  Do not “Give up smoking” But ” I live a health lifestyle and see myself as a healthy person”

  These techniques are used by all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons. People who are achievers. Do not simply scribble something down on a piece of paper and hope it will work.

  You have two choices:

  · Put your whole commitment behind it and get in the right frame of mind to face the challenge.
